In 1963, Guerrero was sent on a routine
assignment for House and Garden magazine to photograph the home of Alexander
Calder, the artist best known as the creator of the mobile. Guerrero was
fascinated by what he saw and began a thirteen year relationship with the
sculptor documenting his work. Guerrero’s photographs capture Calder himself,
his exotic surroundings, and his joyous lifestyle both in the United States and
France. Guerrero’s close relationship with Calder adds a new perspective on this
internationally acclaimed artist.
